The White House wants to set out a cohesive set of policies to regulate Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as currently legislation and its enforcement are scattered across sectors and agencies, according to multiple reports.

The Biden administration will release an executive order in the coming weeks to task federal agencies with assessing the risks and opportunities that Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies pose, Bloomberg first reported.

The order is set to come under the umbrella of national security efforts as the administration seeks to analyze cryptocurrencies and employ a cohesive regulatory framework that would cover Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and NFTs, Barron’s reported Thursday.

Curious to see how this ends up.

I have had FBI and DEA agents tell me that crypto currency is a major Bitch to track and that the forensic accounts struggle with it due to the lack of paper trail

digital trail iOS better than paper trail .. you're wrong again as usual .. except for a few instances that are correct , and were loopholes that are by and large closed now .. the vast vast vast majority of transactions in crypto are tracked .. way way way better than cash ..

so wrong again , per usual

yeah its easy to track, perhaps not worth the trouble for the dollar amount of the transactions though

either way we don't got 75k new IRS agents for nothing, the uber rich mostly avoid taxes legally, it is the upper middle class and below that "cheat" on their taxes so i'd expect some inconvenient interactions with auditors sooner than later
